Senior Webmaster Jul 02 to present
- Collaborate with my fellow web staff (both technical, design and content) to design, code and maintain Sierra Club's main public website, internal websites and social networks.
- Provide technical leadership, advice and evaluation for a variety of Sierra Club projects -- our social networks, our Omniture Publish CMS, and some aspects of Convio.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Sierra Club staff and volunteers who maintain their sites (chapter and group sites, as well as field staff).
- Learn and work with third party libraries and templating systems to make our sites better and integrate with the larger web (APIs from Facebook, Convio, thePort, Google, et al).

Developer - client side programming Aug 01 - Nov 01
- Collaborated with a QA team, HTML programmers, Java programmers, UE experts and visual designers to map out and implement the application's functionality.
- Acted as the principal designer and architect of a hierarchy of JavaScript objects to run the product's HTML/IFrame based user interface.
- Documented the architecture of the application, and wrote a small demo so that developers could understand how things worked.
- Mentored junior developers in DHTML and JavaScript programming.

- Worked on a demo for Bizwerk (above) and helped design and write the first round of architecture and widgets.
- Acted as liaison between designers and techies. Designed some of the UI for www.access.de when a designer quit mid-project.
- Worked on DHTML demo for selling Dell computers and a demo for Genesys, a call center web application.
- Meshed a DHTML map interface with client's backend systems, using JavaScript and ASP (zulusports.com, no longer extant).
- Worked with designers and HTML production artists to come up with a better web design process. The working group was called Esperanto - seeing the need for a shared vocabulary.

- Worked with visual design staff, client and technologists to create interfaces for client web sites.
- Used Illustrator documents to illustrate site architecture, information flow, critical paths and UI page layout - for use by client, by technologists as well as our designers.

- Taught graphic designers and contractors about web graphic production.

- Designed and programmed JavaScripts to work within MFI web infrastructure.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating about 12 MFI web sites including corporate site.
- Handled online collection of subscription information for 20 or so MFI Web sites.
- Reworked the Perl & HTML of the HyperNews Threaded messaging system to make interface easier to use and more visually appealing.
- Supported Miller Freeman web masters, helping them to use MFI web infrastructure, create forms and set up databases.
- Worked with Editorial and Sales staffs to create online database searches (archives, buyers guides and directories).

- Aided Land Agents researching PG&E's rights to use property -- finding and organizing the appropriate documents.
- Advised change in procedure so that new data was entered into database immediately, rather than waiting as many as two years.
- Programmed an Excel module to track payments and documents sent to county recorders.
