SFLCV is a political organization dedicated to the betterment of the San Francisco's environment and political machinery. It does this through lobbying for and against legislation, and in endorsing local candidates and ballot measures.

The logo tried to reflect these things in showing SFLCV's location, its relation to the environment (water ), and to the ballot box.
