Headed for Nirvana?
Where are you on the wheel of life?

About

This little piece is not meant to offend or be protentious. It is meant to be a mere glimpse of Buddhism, in the whimisical spirit of many Buddhist traditions and writings.

Besides, as I certainly have not achieved enlightenment, I have no business telling people how to live their lives. But I hope it might make one think, or at least be curious to find out more about Buddhism.

The idea came from Gina as we were working on the Dell configurator project Gina and I were working on which was code named nirvana (which might be considered the more offensive!)-- and the desire to play around a little.

The source for most of the text came from a book, "Introducing Buddha" by Jane Hope and Borin Van Loon, and excellent little intro to the history of Buddhist traditions and practice. I would be happy to lend it to anyone.

OM MANI PADME HUM

Nirvana is outside the wheel of life

The end of suffering is enlightenment, Nirvana -- the liberation of an individual from the wheel of life. Enlightenment cannot be described only experienced.

The buddha said, I make no promises and remind you that there is no external saviour. You should rely on yourselves to do what I myself have done.
