crappy marketing is us
a while back i submitted a poem I wrote to some contest, after testing my knowledge of poetry
since then I have been serenaded by the sweet song of the international society of poets. here's an example of their fine marketing materials:
how can one -- as a poet especially -- resist! Bob Eubanks as host, Pulitzer prize winner Snodgrass (okay maybe he's a good poet, but shilling for these jokers!), the Shangri-Las!, MUSIC!, COMEDY!, ILLUSIONS!, BANQUETS!, PAAAAARTEEE!
yes, i bet your wondering why i didn't go to Florida. (There's actually a great Harpers article on it where someone goes to one of these events )
